Iain Abernethy Seminar

It’s the second time Presteigne dojo has hosted Iain Abernethy for a seminar, and once again Iain delivered a great session. I was humbled to see familiar faces return again and it was fantastic to meet new people who travelled considerable miles to support the event. I thank you all for making it a great atmosphere and session.
There were mixed abilities and some first timers attending but Iain successfully catered for everyone at all levels, which is a mark of Iain’s abillity as an internationl instructor.
The session was packed full of content which lead seemlessly from one topic to another but also all linked in for progression. We covered hand drills, playing for grips, pinan/heian sandan bunkai, ne-waza, throws and multiple enemy drills. Once again the session flew by and we were out of time, which is another testament of a good seminar!
I would like to thank my students for attending, Neil, Debbie & Sam Webster, Mark & Courtney Russell, Martha Williams, Angus Capel, Daniel Corfield, Simon McDade, Dave Thompson, Sam Spedding, Oliver Gilpin and George Taylor, you did yourselves, your club and your instructor proud.
A personal thank you to my friend and training partner Sensei Alan Turner who attended with some of his students - my ear still hurts!
Thank you Iain and thank you all for a great day. See you on the next one!!
